Library Policies
Student Usage
Each student needs an individual pass containing the date, the time the students left the classroom, and the teacher's signature in order to use the media center during school hours (7:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.). Teacher's will send no more than five students to the library at a time. The student must sign in when entering the library and passes must be signed by media staff when entering and exiting the library. Passes are not needed before school (7:30 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.), after school (2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.), or between classes.
Checkout Procedures
Students are to check out books and magazines at the circulation desk. A student may have three items checked out in their name. Students will not be allowed to check out any books if they have failed to return a book on time. Books are checked out for a two week period but can be renewed as many times as needed. A fine of five cents is charged everyday that a book is late but will not exceed $1.00 for one book. Students are responsible for any lost or stolen book.
Copy Machine
A coin operated machine is available to students in the library. The cost is ten cents per page.
Computers and Internet
Students are to use the computers in the library for school related purposes only. Priority for computers is given to those students who are researching with a class. Printouts are to be held to a minimum. In order to use the Internet, students must have filled out and returned an Acceptable Use Policy form. Students are expected to follow the rules and regulations as stated in the Acceptable Use Policy.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are NOT allowed in the library unless it is part of a classroom lesson monitored by the teacher and librarian.
